 1. The Way of the World is a serious document of its age.

 2. In Gulliver’s Travels Jonathan Swift makes a satirical attack on society as a whole.

 3. The idea of loss discussed in Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard is that of the dreams and          opportunities  lost and unfulfilled by the common villagers.

 4. Mr. Adams is an alter ego of the novelist in Henry Fielding’s Joseph Andrews.




Choose any one of the following topics:

  1. Place of nature in  William Blake’s poems prescribed in your syllabus.
  2. Wordsworth's Romantic Theory in “Tintern Abbey”
  3. In Ode to the West Wind by Shelley there emerges a sense of his social hopes.
  4. Charles Lamb is a personal essayist as evident in the essays in your syllabus.
